Annual Events
National Rebuilding Day
Each year, on the last weekend in April, 275,000 volunteers in towns and cities all over America tackle the sagging roofs, leaky pipes, shaky railings, peeling paint and rotting steps that plague low-income homeowners who don’t have the means to fix these problems.
Using materials, supplies and equipment donated by national corporate sponsors and local civic-minded businesses, volunteers transform entire neighborhoods. This is a major event, requiring the organizational talents of many people in its planning and execution.
Veterans Day: Serving Those Who Serve
In 2005, RTT began rehabbing the homes of disabled veterans living in the Triangle. In partnership with local veterans groups, community organizations, and corporate sponsors, we carry out home rehabilitation projects for veterans during the month leading up to Veterans Day and on selected weekends throughout the year.
Year-Round Service
Neighborhood Work Day This is a regularly scheduled half-day
event, from 8 a.m. to noon, and is open to all volunteers. Typical projects
include yard and neighborhood cleanup, minor carpentry repairs, exterior
painting, small demolition projects, and work projects on community or
non-profit facilities.
Hosted by a local business, church or community organization, our neighborhood
work days usually take place once a month in your community. Check our upcoming
projects section on the home page for a listing of neighborhood work days in
your community.
